Oct. 13 Morning Newscast

The Texas House Redistricting Committee is holding a hearing today on the Republican-designed new Congressional maps for the Lone Star State. Proposed changes would move most of Hunt County out of Pat Fallon's 4th Congressional District into Van Taylor's 3rd Congressional District.

  • This morning at 10 a.m., the Texas House of Representatives will hear testimonial on proposed new Congressional districts. In the map drawn up by Republican lawmakers, most of Hunt County, including Greenville and Commerce, would move into the 3rd Congressional District, which would be composed mostly of Collin County voters.
  • Texas A&M University-Commerce will host an event in Dallas Thursday promoting the university's partnerships in the DFW area as well as the coming A&M-Commerce campus in Dallas. The event will be held at the Crescent Hotel at 11 a.m. Oct. 14.
  • Carevide in Greenville is offering all three of the Pfizer COVID-19 shots for free, by appointment, Tuesdays through Saturdays, for the rest of October.
