Hunting seasons are once again upon us. Luke is joined by his longtime friend Larry Weishuhn aka. "Mr. Whitetail" this week and these two veteran hunters talk about the season ahead and also reflect upon many past years of spending time in the fall woods hunting.

  • Luke's guest this week is Chris Stanton. At this year's Lake Fork Patriot Sporting Challenge, Chris bid for and won a hunt for wild hogs on Jeff and Demi Rice's BUCK AND BASS RANCH near Lake Fork. The Patriot Sporting Challenge brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars for The Folds of Honor (www.foldsofhonor.org) an organization that benefits the families of fallen and wounded veterans. Chris tells a bit about the event and all the fun he and his son had hunting wild porkers in east Texas.

Did you know Indians of the southwest used the mesquite tree for 20 percent of their diet? The beans make an excellent drink much like coffee and ground meal makes a great naturally sweet, nutty flavored meal for baking.
