Asleep At The Wheel has a lifetime history of making country music their way. They've released 20 studio albums, received 9 Grammy Awards, and exert an unrivaled passion for western swing that has brought them together on recordings with the likes of Willie Nelson, George Strait, Robert Earl Keen and Kat Edmonson.

Wheel founder Ray Benson is bringing the whole gang of eight Asleep At The Wheel members back to Greenville to perform as part of the annual Bob Wills Fiddle Festival and Contest, sharing the stage on Friday night with Dale Watson and His Lonestars. Ray took time from his packed schedule to speak with Notably Texan about the upcoming show, and more.

Notably Texan airs Monday-Friday from Noon-3pm on KETR.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Matt moved to the Sulphur Springs area in 1990 and settled in Commerce shortly thereafter. Having dreamed of working in radio since childhood, he began working at KETR while taking Radio-Television courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1993. Matt has transitioned from a part-time worker and pupil of KETR, to the station’s Chief Announcer/Producer and supervisor of student broadcasters. A familiar voice of 88-9 KETR, Matt has hosted such shows as The Late Nite Lion, and can currently be heard as host of Notably Texan.
