Families allowed back home after Wylie explosion

By Kevin Jefferies

Wylie – Six families from Wylie are being allowed to return to their homes a week after a natural gas explosion destroyed one home. 78 year old Benny Cryer and his 77 year old wife Martha were both killed as a result of the explosion. The couple had lived in the house since it was built in 1964.

After an investigation, gas leaks were found in three other homes in the neighborhood. Atmos Energy has been repairing the leaks and removing gas from the soil for the past week.
