Commerce school board members have hired Buddy Echols as interim superintendent. He starts Monday, the same day Keith Boles begins his new position in Connally, near Waco. Echols, who most recently interim superintendent in Greenville, has held similar posts in Celina and Royse City. Echols retired as chief administrator in the Coppell district and also led the Van and New Caney schools.
