Another Greenville gang member sentenced to prison

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Another Greenville gang member has been sentenced to prison.

Tony Ray Askew Jr., 21, of Greenville was indicted in May by the Hunt County grand jury on one count each of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Askew pleaded guilty Thursday to both charges.

He was sentenced to six years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division and five years in prison on the two charges. Askew is alleged one of three people to have used a handgun to rob a male victim in Greenville in Oct. 2008.
