Paris – A second Chisum ISD teacher accused of improper relations with a student is sentenced after pleaded guilty to the charge.
34-year-old Shanda Lynn Swanner entered the plea Friday and was ordered to ten years probation. The former substitute teacher was said to have had sexual relations with a 17 and 16-year-old student off campus.
Swanner was charged after the investigation of another Chisum ISD teacher, 27-year-old Heather Dawn Merritt, revealed Swanner's name.
Merritt pleaded guilty earlier this month to inappropriate teacher-student relationship and was given three years in prison.
