Believe it again: Bryan’s art to feature at the MAC

Back in April 2013, KETR shared news about a collaborative performance art piece that showcased the talents of artist Paul Bryan and composer Chris Ramos, called Believe It Anyway!

This weekend, a film screening at The McKinney Avenue Contemporary marks Bryan’s first major solo exhibition in Dallas. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 11th at 8:15 p.m. A reception is set for 6 p.m.

From an announcementon the MAC’s website:

Exploring the complex idea of faith in modern society through film, Bryan seeks to find the relevance of these epic Old Testament stories which display incredible feats and trials for the characters they feature. Creating a series of films about faith engaged the artist himself and those involved to contemplate questions of why modern educated individuals will make the conscious decision to accede to faith-based thinking over the physical evidence of this world. Believe It Anyway! discusses faith with careful intentionality, focusing upon the experience of the one who believes anyway, taking the audience with us in our journey to meet the unknown.

Bryan and Ramos sat down last year with Jerrod Knight to discuss their various sources of inspiration in producing this complicated, powerful piece.

A Facebook page has been created around the event, as well as a promotional trailer:
