Carry the Weight: Kayak Together to Combat Veteran Suicide.

Join us as Cooper State Park Doctors Creek Unit hosts the 2nd Annual Veteran Suicide Awareness Kayaking on September 6, 2025.

This event aims to raise awareness and connect community partners with our veteran community, particularly focusing on reaching under-served veteran populations.

Meet at the Lone Pine Kayak Launch Parking lot at 9 a.m. Reserve your spot today!

There will be community outreach booths, and a guest speaker starting at 9 a.m.

Join a ranger to learn the basics of kayaking. Limited equipment available. Reserve your kayak today. Ask about available kayaks to use when registering. Email alicia.o'connor@tpwd.texas.gov or call the park office, (903) 395-3100 to register.

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in a same kayak. Life jackets will be provided and worn by all participants. Have your own kayak, bring it with you.
