Observatory Open House – April 28
Join us for a special evening under the stars at our Observatory Open House on Tuesday, April 28th, beginning at 8:30 p.m. The observatory will remain open until 10:30 p.m., giving you plenty of time to explore the night sky and experience astronomy up close.
The observatory is located approximately five miles south of Commerce.
Directions: Traveling south of Commerce on Highway 50, turn east on County Road 4208. The entrance to the Observatory is approximately half a mile on the left.
Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or just curious about what's above us, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a guided look at celestial objects through powerful telescopes and learn from knowledgeable university staff.
Bring your curiosity, your sense of wonder, and enjoy a memorable night beneath the stars. We look forward to seeing you there!

Parking is limited, so please be aware of vehicles coming and going, as we have excited little visitors. The drive into the parking area is a one-way drive. It is narrow and does not have room for passing vehicles. Please do not park on the drive beyond the gate before the parking lot. Additional parking is available on the paved County Road 4208 or in the parking area at the Observatory only.

We are excited to host En Plein Air Contest & Auction as part of Red River Arts Fest 2026!
Artists will have chances to win cash prizes AND sell their artwork in a live auction or in our gallery.
The community will have a chance to watch the artists in action – on Friday night (May 1) at Neighbors Place Winery and on Saturday (May 2) in locations in and around Bonham.
All are invited to the opening reception on Saturday, May 2, starting at 5:00 pm at the Creative Arts Center. The awards ceremony will start at 5:30 pm, immediately followed by the live art auction. Artwork not sold in the live auction will be on display in the gallery and available for purchase during the month of May.
Registration for Artists is now open. Look for the REGISTER (or "Get Tickets") button below or stop by the center during normal business hours to sign up in person. SCAMMER ALERT – if any individual says you can contact them to register, they are a scammer.

The Greenville Farmers Market will be open each Saturday, starting on April 11th and running through November.

Fox Fest is coming up on May 2nd in Caddo Mills!
The event will feature music, food trucks, a kids play zone, dunk tank, and a water balloon fight with the Caddo Mills Fire Department and Police Department, all located on Main Street in Caddo Mills! Vendor Booths will be open from 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. There will also be a Fox Trot 5K run at 8 a.m., a mile fun run at 9 a.m., and a Car Show running from 9 a.m until noon.

The Bonham Farmers Market is held every other Saturday from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., starting April 4th and running through October 31st, 2026. It will be outside the Creative Arts Center, located at 200 W. Fifth Street in Bonham.
