According to a Texas A&M University-Commerce facebook post, First United Methodist Church in Commerce will be the site of a memorial service for longtime ETSU professor emeritus and author, Dr. Otha Spencer.
Dr. Spencer died June 1st, 2012. During his life he'd been involved with the Commerce Public Library, the University's photojournalism program, and many other aspects of our community. More information about his storied career, his life, and a link to his obituary can be found here.
The FUMC in Commerce is located at 1709 Highway 50, across from the University entrance. The service is set for Saturday, June 23rd at 10am.
