GREENVILLE - Caddo Mills resident Randall Douglas Smith has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of Gregory Poteet.
Smith maintained in his testimony that he shot Poteet, also of Caddo Mills, in self defense.
The incident occurred in 2009 following a reported night of drinking between the two.
