Sheriff's deputy dubbed hero in lake rescue

ROCKWALL COUNTY - Two young women are alive today thanks to the heroics of a Rockwall County Sheriff’s deputy, who pulled them from their sinking car early Saturday morning.

The car had entered Lake Ray Hubbard after the driver confused a boat ramp for an interstate on-ramp.

Deputy Keven Rowen was patrolling Robertson Park at the border of the Rockwall and Dallas County lines when he spotted a vehicle in the water with the headlights sticking out. As the vehicle was sinking, Rowen jumped into the water and used a tool to punch out a car window before carrying them to safety.

The entire rescue was caught on dash cam video.
