Motorists Pull Driver from Burning Vehicle in Delta County

Dustin Hunter

DELTA COUNTY - Three people helped carry an unidentified man to safety Tuesday night after the driver's car wrecked and caught fire.

The man has been hospitalized with burns to his arms and legs. The victim's condition was not given.

Officials tell the Cooper Review's Cindy Roller that witnesses spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on State Highway 24 “swerving all over the road” when it struck a culvert near the intersection of CR 4270. The vehicle then flipped multiple times, catching fire.

The man was reportedly trapped inside before three motorists, including two Navy recruiters and a Commerce citizen, helped pull him from the wreckage.

The victim was flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
