Following an undercover investigation Delta County Sheriff Ricky Smith and Chief Deputy Donnie Willingham arrested Cooper resident Tamara Nicole Cook for felony Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance early Tuesday morning, June 30.

The arrest occurred on East San Antonio Street in Cooper, and local law enforcement suspect Cook of not only manufacturing drugs but also the distribution.  According to Sheriff Smith this is the 36th suspected drug dealer put behind bars since 2013.

“The arrest of Ms. Cook was made as the result of an undercover investigation directed at suspected illegal drug sale activity,” said Delta County Sheriff Ricky Smith. “We continue to focus on these type offenses.  Although we believe we have made an impact in reducing the illegal drug problem in Delta County, drug related arrests and crimes continue to occur.  Illegal drug activity has become a plague in all communities across the nation and the effects of these illegal drugs play a significant role in many other crimes.”
