Lori Cope, the director of CASA, the Court-Appointed Special Advocates of Hunt County, says the action of the state legislaturein approving an additional $500 million for Child Protective Serviceswill be very helpful to CPS and the children in foster care. Lori says its part of a plan for more "community-based" care of foster children, in which an effort is made to keep them close to home.
