Cooper Clean-Up Crew’s first “Yard of the Month” winner is Misty Scott, who lives at 150 West Waco in Cooper. She was presented with a gift certificate to The Silver Skillet as a token of appreciation for the work she is doing with her yard.
Cooper Clean-Up Crew organizer Carmen Chessher reported 24 volunteers last Saturday for the monthly project day.
“Of the 24 total, we had two new members, five young people, a deputy and three inmates. We had several members with other obligations today, but they will be back next month,” stated Carmen Chessher on the group’s Facebook page. “We gathered quite a bit of trash, limbs, old carpet, etc.”
They plan to continue to show appreciation to property owners and residents who show improvements each month. Once again everyone is reminded and invited to participate as a volunteer. The next Cooper Clean-Up date will be Saturday, July 15 starting at 7 a.m. meeting on the Square in Cooper. Those that would like to join later at 8 a.m. are certainly welcome.
