Brewery Debuts In Celebration City

It was a different kind of splash in the summer heat – the sound of freshly brewed beer being drawn into glasses. It is a new story in an old building. BackStory Brewery recently opened to the public at 211 Magnolia Street in Sulphur Springs, the Celebration City.

The $1.8 million renovation of the establishment formerly housed an ice house and meat packing plant. Remnants of the history of Hopkins County and Sulphur Springs can be seen all over the tap room from original fixtures and decor.

The highlight of the brewery is the menu with varieties from Hoppy Red, to Blonde to the fan-favorite Hefty Lefty, which is 11.2 percent alcohol by volume.

The establishment includes live music entertainment concerts, arcade games, pool tables, shuffleboard, ever-popular corn hole tournaments, and a life-size Jenga game. It will also be available for private rentals. Food trucks are also welcome near the large outdoor deck.
