Sarah Latham, Hunt County Agrilife Extension Agent, says her office has been getting a lot of questions about twig girdlers, insects that gnaw the branches off of trees, leaving a smooth, rounded edge. She says its important to burn the branches, or the twig girdler eggs will hatch another batch of the insects next year. Also, Sarah says Friday, Nov. 2 Agrilife will present a holiday foods and crafts event, "Making Memories," at the Ben E. Keith community room in Commerce. And on Friday, Nov. 9, Agrilife will present a program on cottage-industry law at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center.
