'Operation Sweet Treats' Will Attempt To Show Commerce Kids Police Are Friendly

Dr. LaVelle Hendricks, associate professor of counseling at Texas A&M-Commerce and a member of the Commerce school board, is leading "Operation Sweet Treats" December 17-22 in Commerce.  Dr. Hendricks and other community leaders will be riding with Commerce policeand handing out candy to children and teens they encounter on the street, in order to show them that the police are their friends and are not to be feared.
