Sulphur Springs Moving Forward On Thermo Mine Park Project

City of Sulphur Springs, Facebook

Emily Glass, vice president with Alliance Bank in Sulphur Springs, discusses the city's recent advances in the efforts to eventually convert the former Thermo Mine property into a very large city park.  The city council lately agreed to take over responsibility for a highway overpass on the project.  Creating a park on the property is a long-term project, and a considerable amount of remediation will be necessary on the land.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
