Facebook

Charlie Alderman, Commerce ISD superintendent, discusses the rules announced this week by the University Interscholastic League for fall sports and band.  Regular-season football at the 4A level and below will start as originally planned on August 28, but will be delayed several weeks at the 5A and 6A level. (Commerce is in the 3A classification.)  Volleyball will mainly be affected by the cancellation of tournaments, but single games may be scheduled to take the place of lost tournament games.  Bands may not begin practicing for their competition shows until September 7.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
