Northeast Texas remains in moderate to severe drought this week. The conditions are part of a growing trend across Texas.
As of Thursday’s report by the U.S. Drought monitor, almost 80 percent of the state is in some level of drought. Most areas in drought are considered moderate to severe.
Pockets of extreme drought, the second-worst level still dot parts of the Panhandle, Southwest Texas, North Central Texas, and Marion and Henderson counties, along the Arkansas border.
