KETR

We appreciate you: KETR members make public radio happen.

Feb 1, 2019

Because of 88.9 KETR's members, public radio happens in Northeast Texas. For 44 years and counting, 88.9 KETR has been our region’s unparalleled source for news, information, and entertainment. Your loyal support of KETR means there is a trusted resource on your radio dial and online that provides high-quality public radio news and content presented with integrity.

Your support fosters a culture of curiosity, engagement, and lifelong learning in our Northeast Texas community. You not only make great public radio possible for yourself to enjoy, but for thousands of listeners across our region who depend on the content found on 88.9 to live informed and fulfilled lives.

Your support has made it possible for 88.9 KETR to:

  • Inch closer to our strategic goal of financial sustainability through continued growth and retention of our sustaining member program — which provides the most reliable ongoing source of member support.
  • Add several new and exciting programs to our weekend programming lineup. These programs have risen to the top after months of discussion and interpretation of data collected from our annual programming survey, which is a fantastic way for our listeners to drive what they hear on KETR. We’re sure you’ll appreciate the effort that’s been made to align our weekend schedule with your expectations. Click here to learn more about KETR's new programming lineup.
  • Expand the capabilities, awareness, and exposure of KETR’s own newsroom. In 2018, KETR was awarded its first Regional Edward R. Murrow Award. All Things Considered Host Scott Morgan’s feature “Does Texas Have a Hog Problem? Yes. So How Did We Get Here?” won for Excellence in Sound in the awards’ Small Market Radio category for Region 6. The “Early Voting Turnout in Lamar County” story by Morgan was ran on NPR’s Morning Edition, and a story covering the swelling voter registrations in Collin County in the 2018 election was cited on the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC.

These are just a few of the exciting things that KETR is able to do because of your support. None of what KETR offers to our community would be possible without you. You make public radio happen. We are so thankful for your generosity and commitment to our mission of informing and enlightening the citizens in our community. As a small token of our appreciation, please enjoy the enclosed magnet that includes our new weekend programming schedule for easy reference.

We look forward to serving you in 2019 with programming that adds value to your life. Thank you for your support of 88.9 KETR!
