CHS Tiger Robotics Team Places Second In State

Commerce ISD, Facebook

Commerce ISD superintendent Charlie Alderman discusses recent successes of Commerce High School students, including placing second in the state for 1A-4A schools in robotics.

The robotics team, coached by Earvin Larry, will go on to compete at the national level this month. The Tiger robotics team placed first in the state last year. Also, Charlie notes that 42 of 45 Commerce High School band students received first-division ratings at the state competition recently. The band director is Kara Wallace. Tiger Theater, taught by Karri Anderson, went to the area round of UIL competition. And the Tiger boys tennis team won the district championship and the girls team placed second.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
