Inflation Hits Texas Hard, But Some Believe It Will Ease Soon

Greetings from Midland, Texas Boston Public Library, Creative Commons, CC BY 2.0

Dr. Dale Funderburk, Northeast Texas economist and long-time Texas A&M-Commerce economics professor, reflects on news that the West Texas city of Midland has the highest inflation in the country at 10 percent.

Funderburk takes note of predictions by Texas economist Dr. Ray Perryman and Kiplinger magazine that inflation will begin to ease in the next few months, but he is skeptical of those predictions without more aggressive action by the Federal Reserve Bank.
