Commerce Is Participating In Texas Economic Expansion

Nexii, Facebook

Former Commerce mayor and long-time businessman Wyman Williams says the expansion of the Texas economy, with dozens of companies being attracted to the state each year, is also being seen in Commerce.

Wyman contemplates a recent Forbe's magazine article that says Texas now has more Fortune 500 companies than any other state, with 62 corporate relocations from 17 states and three countries in 2022. Wyman notes that Commerce will soon be home to the Nexii building products company, and is already home to Huaru Pipe, a Chinese plastic pipe manufacturing plant.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
