Commerce Food Pantry Provides Help For About 30 Families Per Week

Commerce Food Pantry, Facebook

Angela Roberts, representing the Commerce Food Pantry, says the Food Pantry, located at the First Presbyterian Church on north Monroe Street, plans to serve about 30 families per week, although as many as 50 families may come to the pantry on a given day.

The Food Pantry is open from 2-4 p.m. Thursdays. Angela says about 90 percent of the people served by the Food Pantry are from Commerce. Most of the food comes from the North Texas Food Bank.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
