Derek Price, who writes the"Cargazing"column in the Herald-Banner, which is also nationally syndicated, made a trip to Norway with his family recently, and says most of the cars on the road in Norway are electric cars.

Derek says the enormous size of the U.S. and the greater driving distances make adoption of electric cars more challenging here. He says major challenges remain with electric-power supplyand demand and with the manufacturing of batteries.
