Rick Parent, Commerce-area photographer and writer, reflects on the changes brought about by digital technology.

A 2012 report (now ten years old) said that 10 percent of all photos ever taken were taken in 2012, when photography was about 170 years old, meaning that many millions of photos were being snapped digitally on cell phones. Eighty-five percent of all photos are taken with smart phones, and 90 percent of people who have ever taken a photo have only used a cell phone.
