Lions take on Bisons Friday in final game of season
Friday marks an exciting cap to what has been a memorable 2013 season for the A&M-Commerce football team as the Lions will be playing in their first bowl game since the 1958 Tangerine Bowl. Here is all the information fans need to plan to cheer on the Lions this weekend as A&M-Commerce participates in the inaugural Live United Texarkana Bowl.

A&M-Commerce was invited to play in the Live United Texarkana Bowl, which will be held at Texarkana Arkansas High School's Razorback Stadium at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. This is the inaugural Live United Texarkana Bowl, which pits a member of the Great American Conference against an at-large team, a spot which A&M-Commerce accepted at a press conference on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
A&M-Commerce will face the Harding Bisons of the Great American Conference. The Bisons finished second in the GAC with an 8-2 record and are one of the top rushing teams in the nation, running a triple option offense and averaging 366 yards and 43.4 points per game – both of which are third in all of Division II. Located in Searcy, Arkansas, Harding is coached by Ronnie Huckeba. The Bisons qualified for the 2012 NCAA Division II playoffs. A&M-Commerce and Harding have met three times previously with the Lions winning two of the three contests.
Tickets for the Live United Texarkana Bowl are currently on sale by contacting the A&M-Commerce Athletic Office at (903) 886-5558. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students and youth.
The 2013 Live United Texarkana Bowl will be held at Texarkana Arkansas High School's Razorback Stadium, located at East 18th Street in Texarkana, Ark. (71854). Coming east from Commerce, fans will take the Jefferson Avenue Exit off Interstate 30 (Exit 1), turning right onto Jefferson Avenue. Continue for approximately two miles before taking a left onto E 18th Street and the stadium will be on the right. With a seating capacity of nearly 6,500, Razorback Stadium has an artificial playing surface with stands on both the north and south sides. With A&M-Commerce being the designated visiting team, the Lion sideline will be the south sideline.
PARKING AND TAILGATING
Parking for the 2013 Live United Texarkana Bowl is free for all spectators. The designated tailgating area for A&M-Commerce will be in the grassy area on the southeast corner of the stadium. Tailgating will begin at 2 p.m. as tents and grills are permitted. A&M-Commerce fans are encouraged to enter through the southeast gate of the stadium as the Lions will occupy the south sideline.
For fans who are unable to make it to Texarkana for the Live United Bowl, the game will be streamed online through the Great American Conference's website at GACSports.org. Live statistics are also available with links to both the video and live stats of the game available at LionAthletics.com as well. KETR 88.9 FM will carry the game live both over the air and online at KETR.org with Charlie Chitwood, "The Voice of the Lions," and Brock Callaway on the call. A&M-Commerce's appearance in the 2013 Live United Texarkana Bowl marks the Lion's fifth bowl game in program history as A&M-Commerce is 3-0-1 all-time in four trips to the Tangerine Bowl (1953, 1954, two in 1958). The game Saturday marks the Lions' 10th trip to the postseason and the first under the banner of A&M-Commerce. The Lions' last postseason appearance was in the NCAA Division II playoffs in 1995 as A&M-Commerce is 8-4-1 all-time in postseason games.
