UIL Realignment 2018: Where Area Teams End Up

Cindy Roller
Cooper Review
The Cooper Bulldogs and Whitewright Tigers reunite as district foes again in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

On Thursday morning, the University Interscholastic League announced new district competition for every high school athletic team in the state of Texas, a rite of passage that takes place every two years. For the Commerce Tigers, their slate of district competition includes some familiar faces, including reigniting a rivalry with Bonham's Purple Warriors.

The Commerce Tigers move into District 5-3A Division I, paired up with Bonham, Howe, Lone Oak, Pottsboro, Rains, and Van Alstyne. The Tigers have been paired with Bonham, Howe, and Van Alstyne in districts before. The Tigers have lost consecutive non-district games to Lone Oak the past two seasons, while Pottsboro ended the Tigers season in the first round of the 2015 playoffs.
