Officials to help get rid of old perscription drugs

By Scott Harvey

Sulphur Springs – The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office and Paris Police are among local law enforcement agencies joining the DEA to offer residents a way to properly discard old prescription medications.

Many people have no idea what to do with these drugs, so they remain in the medicine cabinet, easily accessible, especially to youth who might be tempted to use them. Throwing the drugs away or flushing them is not a safe method of disposal either.

The Hopkins County Sheriff's office and Paris PD will take back the old medications on Saturday, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at their offices.
