Farmersville Farmers: 2013 football preview

Farmersville High School's head coach Sammy Burnett will try to build on last year's success of a 6-5 season and a playoff appearance. Quarterback Christopher Stanley and all-purpose threat Andrew Simons (four special-teams touchdowns) will lead the offense again this season after carrying the primary load in 2012. Running back Darrin Pennington was the Newcomer of the Year in the district last season.

The Farmers are the preseason favorite to win District 6-2A Division I, according to Dave Campbell's Texas FootballThe most favorable stretch of the Farmers' season is between Sept. 13 and Sept. 27, when the Farmers have three games at home against Emory Rains, Melissa and Sunnyvale.
