Candlelight Vigil Honors Honey Grove Accident Victims

KXII-TV

HONEY GROVE - 41-year-old Kenneth Aldridge and his 7-year-old son Micah died last Wednesday after their truck collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Jon Paul Minnick of Bonham, who was also killed.

Balloons were also released Friday and an American flag raised by the local boy scout troop, of which Micah was a member.

Family friend Monica McMurrey told KXII-TV:

"They are so special to this community. It's just going to be a really hard thing for this community to heal from because they embodied this whole town, this school, the other activities that we had. They were just part of it."

Four people were injured in the accident and taken to hospitals, including Kenneth Aldridge’s wife, Karen.  The two were released from the hospital Friday. Two others remained hospitalized at last report.

The fatal accident occurred last Wednesday afternoon along Highway 82 in western Lamar County near the Brookston community.
