Cooper school board boasts new energy savings

The Cooper Independent School District Board of Trustees met for a regular meeting last Monday night following a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Solar Energy Project, the largest of its kind in Northeast Texas.

The first item of business was the approval of the consent agenda which included the revised Delta County Appraisal District budget.

CISD Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger noted there were 794 students currently enrolled.

During the Principals’ Reports, each principal reported on the progress of District Goal of Collaboration.

Thomas Darden and Alan Beeler were nominated to Appraisal Board with a vote of 5-0 with Darden abstaining.

The Board also agreed to move their next meeting to Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m.
