Hunt County Historical Commission chairman Carol Taylor says historical markers are being developed for the Blanton School in Wolfe City and in honor of African-American educator Mary Jim Morris of Greenville.  A new marker was recently dedicated at the Fred Douglas School building in east Greenville.  Carol says her conversations with African-American citizens in gathering research for the markers has highlighted the courage necessary for them to leave the schools they knew in the 1960s and go to previously all-white schools.
