Hunt County Master Gardener Stephanie Suesan Smith says late March and early April is the time to plant summer garden plants such as tomatoes, peppers, squash and others. Stephanie says some winter season vegetables may have been lost to the recent snow, but if gardeners act immediately, there might still be time to replant snow peas, lettuce, turnips and other cold-season crops. Stephanie also provides some tips on success for hanging baskets.
