Dick Latson with Commerce Community Caressays the charitable organization holds its annual kickoff event at 6 p.m. Monday evening at the Ben E. Keith building. Dick says the organization raised more than $25,000 for local organizations last year, and the goal for the 2015-16 campaign year is $27,500. New organizations receiving support will be the Commerce Police Department's CHAOS Kids program, and the Northeast Texas African-American Leadership Conference. Longtime Commerce community leader Gene Casselberry also guests on the program.
