Dr. Karri McCreary of the Greenville Animal Hospital says she often sees pets who run afoul of the holidays by getting into Christmas decorations such as glass ornaments or tinsel. She says it's not just an "urban legend" about cats leaping onto Christmas trees. Poinsettias and mistletoe are hazardous to pets. And Dr. McCreary says human food, especially rich Christmas food, is not good for pets.
