Lori Cope, the director of CASA (the Court-Appointed Special Advocates) of Hunt County, says the organization recently received 14 new cases, involving 25 children. In Hunt County, CASA is now serving 168 children. She says CASA needs more volunteers to visit with the children and act as their advocate in court proceedings. Lori says drug abuse is a major reason why children are placed in foster homes.
