Bonham Seeking Affordable Housing

Texas State Historical Association

Emily Porter, the president of the Bonham Economic Development Corporation, says representatives of the city recently attended the Sunbelt Builders conference in Dallas to promote the building of affordable housing in the city.  Emily says Bonham, like many other small cities, is in need of more housing for middle-income people.  Emily is also the chairman of the Bonham Tourism Committee, and says the regular "Wine Down on Willow" event, celebrating wine produced in the Bonham area, takes place from 6-10 p.m. Friday evening (August 18).  The event takes place at the Creative Arts Center on Willow Street in Bonham on the third Friday of every month.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
