Dr. LaVelle Hendricks, associate professor of counseling at Texas A&M-Commerce, is one of the organizers of the "Commerce Strong" event at 10 a.m. Saturday (September 9) on the square in downtown Commerce. It's designed to promote racial reconciliation and unity following a highly publicized incident over the summer involving an A&M-Commerce student and the Commerce Chief of Police at that time.
