Filing for March primaries just around the corner

Local candidates with intentions to run for office next year can make it official beginning next Saturday, November 12. The final day to file is December 12.

Those who’ve already made their plans public include incumbent Ralph Hall, U.S. representative of Texas’ 4th District. Dr. John Cooper, of Sulphur Springs, has announced plans to challenge Hall in the March primary.

Incumbent 354th District Court Judge Richard A. Beacom will formally file for re-election, and is expected to be challenged by fellow Republican Attorney Keith Willeford.

Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks will also be seeking another term in office. He currently has no challengers.
