The conversation about sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior isn't a casual one these days.

UPDATE 8/24/17, 3:25 p.m.: KETR's operations team successfully reinstated partial power to the transmitter at 12:30 p.m. today. The output power will remain at or below 50% for the rest of today and will be increased incrementally over the coming days, as workers exit the site. The transmitter had been operating at only 50% of its capacity throughout most of the building process over the last couple of months due to the potential for higher-than-normal radiation exposure by construction workers.

The Texas transportation Commission says it will free up more than $3 million to help the beleaguered TAPS Public Transit overcome its lingering debt. TAPS, the Texoma Area Paratransit Partnership, which provides transportation options to mainly seniors in Fannin, Grayson, and other regional counties, has been saddled with an almost $5 million debt problem. The debt grew from money owed to vendors and contract employees. Recently TAPS has considered a plan to sell or dispose of as many as 30 buses.

Time: Recovering, Recuperating, Rollering Along

My friends at KETR brightened my day and my stay in the hospital with beautiful floral arrangement.

Time. This has an entirely new meaning for this red headed newspaper editor/radio reporter who has never missed a deadline or a beat. Thankfully I am home recovering, recuperating and trying to get back to a new “normal.”

A new deadline has been established. When you are forced to stare an illness in the face you realize how important time and life is. I found my fight song against congestive heart failure and am hoping I have “more fight in me.”
