'The Connection' Provides Public Transportation In Hunt County

As Hunt County develops, the future of public transit's role in the region is being planned.
Senior Center Resources and Public Transit

Frances Dalbey, the executive director of the Hunt County United Way, discusses The Connection, a service of the Senior Resource Center and Public Transit in Greenville.  The Connection provides a shuttle service for all citizens of Hunt County.  Arrangements for travel should be made a day in advances.  In addition to providing transportation within the county, the shuttle goes to the DART rail station in Rowlett, where riders can travel to Dallas or as far as Fort Worth.  Also, Frances says the United Way's annual Hearts and Hands fund raising dinner dance is Saturday evening, August 26, at the Peninsula Ranch on Lake Tawakoni.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
