Bread of Life Food Pantry distributes free food to those in need. Family and Senior Commodity Boxes available at all distributions. Located at 301 Hwy 224, Commerce, TX. Most boxes consist of canned vegetables, rice, pasta, peanut butter, cereal, juice, and canned meat. We also offer frozen meat, bread and fresh produce when in stock. New clients bring a photo ID and proof of address. For example, current utility bill. Our distribution days are the first Friday after the first Wednesday 10:00am – 2:00pm for seniors 60 plus, and everyone younger from 12:00pm – 2:00pm and on the 3rd Wed of the month from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. We also offer Emergency Boxes to families who can’t wait for a distribution day. Volunteers and donations are always welcome. Thank you. The Caddo Mills Chamber of Commerce presents their 30th Annual Fox Fest on Saturday, May 4th!
Going from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., the event will feature over 100 local vendors, food trucks, live performances and music, a car show, a 5K Fun Run and much more!

Second Saturday Bird Walks in the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary are offered by volunteers from the Prairie & Timbers Audubon Society (PTAS). These bird walks are intended to help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. There are also plenty of opportunities provided for participants to ask questions from experienced birders. Prairie, woodland, and wetland habitats are included in these walks.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, each Nature Connection Walk will be an immersive time spent connecting with nature in our wildlife sanctuary. They will include guided activities done while walking, standing, and/or sitting along our trails. The trails and guided activities will change each month, making each walk a fresh experience. Join us and discover how much spending intentional time connecting with nature can improve your life.
This annual event is hosted by the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum to celebrate Audie Leon Murphy, the most decorated combat soldier of World War II, as well as military veterans and those currently serving our country. Some of our featured speakers will include Martha Bolton, author of Bob Hope’s Wartime Correspondence with the G.I.s of WWII, Melody Miyamoto Walters, author of In Love & War: The WWII Courtship Letters of a Nisei Couple and Kevin Brodie, an actor, producer, writer and director who starred with Audie Murphy in Showdown and Battle at Bloody Beach. The museum will also be presented with a very special donation during the morning program. In addition, the bestselling movie Battle at Bloody Beach starring Audie Murphy will be shown at 2pm and 7pm at the Texan Theater on Friday, May 17th.Saturday morning’s events will be held at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center at 5501 Business Hwy 69 South in Greenville and the afternoon and evening events will move to the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum located at 600 Interstate Highway 30 in Greenville.
