Community Calendar

Sam Rayburn was a farmer, so each year, we celebrate Mr. Sam's love farming, farmers, and his community by inviting everyone to our site for Farming Heritage Day. During this free event, see antique tractors, farm animals, local community groups, fiber arts specialists, and more on the grounds of the home of the longest-serving Speaker of the House in U.S. history. A cash-only pop up store will also be available alongside fun games and activities that honor the Rayburn family who called this site home.

The 7 p.m. show this Friday, Jul 24 is "Dark Star Adventure", followed by "To Worlds Beyond" at 8 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person, per show.

Dark Star Adventure:
"After spending three years at her father’s astronomy research station, Subrah, a teenager bored by science, is excited about leaving – and not a moment too soon.

The planet’s sun is about to explode. When a technical glitch launches Subrah’s father into space without her, she has to make her own getaway and return safely home again.

Join Subrah, and her robot helper Sweeps, on an unforgettable voyage of discovery as they unravel a cosmic riddle that points the way to planet Bekenal. You’ll witness the awesome power of a supernova, explore the heart of a gaseous nebula, visit exotic pulsars and learn to keep a safe distance from a black hole!"

Kids' Book Club Returns in September

For 4th & 5th graders

This month's theme: kids choose the book.

Bring a favorite book you've been reading and share it with the group — funny stories, adventures, mysteries, or anything hard to put down.

Kids can share their pick, discover new books, and meet other young readers.

Pokémon day at the Commerce Public Library: play, trade cards, and meet fellow Pokémon fans!
