Beginning the week of September 16 through December 9, preschoolers will have the opportunity to explore all that the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, Texas has to offer. During each weekly program, we’ll meet one of the Heard’s live animal ambassadors and take a nature hike to explore different habitats from wetlands and forests to prairie and ponds. We’ll also prowl through museum exhibits, participate in hands-on science activities, sing songs, listen to stories, and play nature themed games! We’ll talk about our responsibility to nature and what we can do to help the plants and animals around us.Pre-registration is required. Registration closes September 3. Non-members $240; Members $216 per semester (Per semester: 24 hour program/12 weeks).

Texas A&M University - Commerce hosts an event honoring Hispanic Heritage month on Wednesday. The event kicks off with a TAMUC Mariachi info session- featuring Drs. Tomas Espinosa and Eric Branscome.
Then, Alfredo Corchado, a retired journalist and acclaimed author, will give a presentation followed by a Q&A session. That’s starting at 5 p.m., at the Performing Arts Center on campus at A&M Commerce - located at 2101 University Drive.

Join us for the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum’s 3rd To Hell & Back Motorcycle Poker Run. Registration will begin at 8:30am at the museum with the run starting at 10am. Rider registration costs $30 and includes a t-shirt, poker card and lunch with an additional rider fee of $10 with lunch included. The end location will also be at the Museum. Don’t ride a bike? That’s ok – come on out to the museum from 10am – 2:00pm to visit the vendor booths, have lunch, participate in the silent auction and raffle and listen to a music by Brandon Bamburg that will start at 12:30. There are some wonderful auction items including a signed bottle by Dana White, motorcycle bags, gift certificates and much more.
