Fossil Day Celebration: October 18, 2025, 9 am - 3 pm
We're looking forward to another fun time at the river when we have Fossil Day in October.
This is a come and go event! Starting around 9:00 am, come join us to see what fossils come from the North Sulphur River and talk to the pros.
Dallas Paleontological Society will have members here to help ID what you have found in the past or that day. It's a come and go event, so be prepared to take a journey into the river and look for fossils.
Bring cash for lunch from Big D's food vendor or bring your own snacks. Don't forget to pack extra water and bring something to carry your finds in. Port-a-potties will be available.
Special thanks to Mick Tune and the Dallas Paleontological Society for all their expertise and involvement in this celebration of National Fossil Day.
The new location is on FM904 on the southwest corner of FM904/North Sulphur River. Watch for signs.
GPS coordinates are listed in the event on Facebook and on the website. https://www.cocladonia.org/LadoniaFossilDay
